Kaleidoscope: Yellow Highlights

This jacket is super fun. The rainbow of colors displayed in a collage of patterns makes it a statement piece. I decided to pick one of the colors of the rainbow and pick that as the theme for the rest of the outfit. Also making her first appearance are my new Jimmy Choo's.

Getting a late start on the blog this week. Rainy and gloomy weekend weather equaled to not being able to take blog photos last weekend. Thanks for visiting and hope you are getting some sunshine.

I have wanted to purchase a Tadashi Shoji dress for a few months now. He makes the classiest lace dresses. With the upcoming weddings and summer soirees this seemed like the right time to make the purchase. I like the length of this dress, most of Tadashi Shoji dresses are longer and I also love the color. It is bright yet chic enough to be worn for a day time event and classy enough for a night time formal event. The disarrayed nature of my coiffed hair is due to my lack of hair styling skills. Nonetheless, I found that a simple braid and a bun gives me somewhat of a well-coiffed appearance.

Thank you for visiting. See you soon.

Just a quick Monday morning hello. Hope you had a lovely weekend.

Royal Blue + Black

Two posts back to back that is quiet ambitious of me. We got back from our trip early this week and despite the exhaustion that comes from being on a road trip I have rejuvenated my creative energy.

For this outfit as I do with most of my ensembles I started with a color and a single article of clothing. The royal blue shirt was where it all started. I ended up finding pieces in my closet to color coordinate this outfit without being over the top matchy matchy. For a while now I have been meaning to put an outfit together with a royal blue theme, finally I put one together. On an almost all black outfit the pops of blue adds the right amount of vibrance. Royal blue is such a rich color and goes great with vibrant orange and shades of yellow for a more summery casual palette. Next outfit perhaps.

Happy Friday!

To balance over the top embellishment on this beautiful Sue Wong gown gown, I decided not to wear any jewelry. And the only accessory is a subdued gunmetal Milly clutch. An opportunity to wear a gown is always a delight and brings pure joy to the little girl in me.

It has been a short work week, but I feel I need to recover from my vacation. As I am getting older I have a new born appreciation for road trips, however, they seem to be more exhausting than a regular vacation that involves a plane ride as a mode of transportation. My weekend plans involve resting, gardening and frolicking in meadows (city parks will have to do for now).

Have a lovely weekend.
